Important: Ensure that the master cylinder reservoir is properly filled with brake fluid for the following reasons:

       • In order to ensure an adequate fluid reserve
       • In order to prevent air from entering the hydraulic system
Do not overfill the master cylinder reservoir because of expansion due to heat absorbed from the brakes and from the engine.

  1. Thoroughly clean the cap for the brake fluid reservoir before removal in order to prevent dirt from entering the reservoir.
  2. Remove the cap for the reservoir (1).
  3. Fill the reservoir with brake fluid, GM P/N 12377967, or the equivalent DOT 3 brake fluid, until the fluid reaches the MAX mark.
  4. Install the cap for the reservoir.
