Removal Procedure
  1. Relieve the fuel system pressure. Refer to Fuel Pressure Relief .

    2. Object Number: 382442 Size: SH
  2. Remove the quick connect coupling cover(1) in the engine compartment.

    3. Object Number: 382450 Size: SH
  3. Disconnect the quick connect coupling for the fuel feed hose from the fuel feed chassis pipe. Use a shop towel to catch any remaining fuel that may leak. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .
  4. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  5. Disconnect the quick connect coupling for the fuel tank supply hose from the fuel feed chassis pipe. Use a shop towel to catch any remaining fuel that may leak. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .

  6. Remove the 4 nuts (2) and the bolt from the EVAP/fuel pipe protector (1).
  7. Remove the EVAP/fuel pipe protector (1) from the vehicle underbody.
  8. Remove the bolt from the fuel pipe front bulkhead support.
  9. Remove the fuel feed pipe from the vehicle underbody.

Installation Procedure
  1. Install the fuel feed pipe to the vehicle underbody.

    2. Object Number: 380157 Size: SH
  2. Install the EVAP/fuel pipe protector (1) to the vehicle underbody.

    3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the 4 nuts (2) and the bolt to the EVAP/fuel pipe protector (1).

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the 4 nuts and the bolt to 1.2-2.0 N·m (11-18 lb in).

  4. Connect the quick connect coupling for the fuel tank supply hose to the fuel feed chassis pipe. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .
  5. Secure the fuel pipe front bulkhead support with the bolt.

    6. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 6 N·m (53 lb in).

  6. Lower the vehicle.

  7. Connect the quick connect coupling for the fuel feed hose to the fuel feed chassis pipe. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .

    8. Object Number: 382442 Size: SH
  8. Install the quick connect coupling cover (1).
  9. Connect the negative battery cable.
  10. Turn ON the ignition in order to pressurize the fuel system.
  11. Turn OFF the ignition.
  12. Check for any fuel leaks.
