Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the windshield wiper motor electrical connector (2).
  2. Remove the following components from the bulkhead
  3. • The 4 bolts
    • The wiper motor (1)

  4. Connect the claw (2) of the windshield wiper transmission (1) to the bulkhead (3).
  5. Important: Do not service the wiper motor crank arm separately. Do not disconnect the wiper motor crank arm from the wiper motor. The crank arm is positioned on the wiper motor in order to allow the wiper arms to return to their normal park position.

  6. Gently pry the wiper transmission (1) from the wiper motor crank arm.
  7. Remove the wiper motor (4) from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the windshield wiper transmission to the wiper motor crank arm.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the windshield wiper motor (1) to the bulkhead. Secure the wiper motor with the 4 bolts.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the windshield wiper motor bolts to 5.5 N·m (49 lb in).

  5. Connect the wiper motor electrical connector (2).
