Circuit/System Description

The body control module (BCM) monitors the cruise control indicator switch. When the cruise on/off switch is pressed ON, the cruise control switch is closed and the signal circuit is low. The BCM sends a serial data message to the instrument panel cluster (IPC) indicating the status of the cruise control switch.

Circuit/System Verification

  1. Ignition ON, perform the Display Test. Verify the cruise control indicator illuminated.
  2. If the indicator does not illuminate, replace the IPC.
  3. Replace the BCM.
