DTC Descriptor

DTC C0245 Mismatched Tire

Circuit/System Description

As the wheel spins, the wheel speed sensor produces an AC signal. The electronic brake control module (EBCM) uses the frequency of the AC signal to calculate the wheel speed.

Conditions for Running the DTC

    • The ignition is ON.
    •  Vehicle speed is greater than 14 km/h (9 mph)
    • Ignition voltage is greater than 8 volts.
    • The vehicle is traveling in a strait path
    • Brake pedal is not applied
    • Traction control is not active

Conditions for Setting the DTC

Wheel speed differences between one wheel and the others is greater than 25 percent.

Action Taken When the DTC Sets

    • The EBCM disables the antilock brake system (ABS)
    • The ABS indicator turns ON
    • The EBCM disables traction control system (TCS)

Diagnostic Aids

Inspect tires for improper air pressure or improper size.
