Removal Procedure

  1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling in Engine Cooling.
  2. Remove the engine coolant temperature sensor. Refer to Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor Replacement in Engine Controls - 3.8L.

  3. Object Number: 327466  Size: SH
  4. Remove the engine mount strut at the left engine mount strut bracket. Refer to Engine Mount Strut Replacement - Left Side .

  5. Object Number: 35814  Size: SH
  6. Remove the engine mount strut bracket bolts.
  7. Remove the engine mount strut bracket.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the engine mount strut bracket.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the engine mount strut bracket bolts.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the engine mount strut bracket bolts to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).

  5. Install the engine mount strut to the left engine mount strut bracket. Refer to Engine Mount Strut Replacement - Left Side .
  6. Install the engine coolant temperature sensor. Refer to Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor Replacement in Engine Controls - 3.8L.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the sensor to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  8. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling in Engine Cooling.
