Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 178575  Size: SH
  1. Remove the seat belt buckle bolt plug (5) from the sleeve.
  2. Disconnect the following components when removing the driver seat belt buckle (6) :
  3. • The electrical connector (2)
    • The retainer (1)
  4. Remove the driver seat belt buckle bolt.
  5. Remove the driver seat belt buckle (6) from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the driver seat belt buckle (6) to the vehicle.
  2. Install the driver seat belt buckle (6) through the hole in the seat cushion on the split bench seat.
  3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the driver seat belt buckle bolt (4).
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the driver seat belt buckle bolt to 42 N·m (31 lb ft).

  6. Connect the following components if the components are disconnected:
  7. •  The electrical connector (2)
    • The retainer (1)
    • Insert the connector under the carpet.
  8. Install the driver seat belt buckle bolt plug (5) to the sleeve.
