Removal Procedure
  1. Telescope the steering column to its most extended position.

    2. Object Number: 1998799 Size: SH
  2. Remove the steering column lower trim cover bolts (2) from the steering column lower trim cover (1).

    3. Object Number: 1998798 Size: SH
  3. Disengage the steering column upper trim cover from the steering column lower trim cover.
  4. Remove the steering column upper trim cover (1) from the steering column.
  5. Maneuver the steering column lower trim cover around the tilt lever to remove it.

Installation Procedure
  1. Maneuver the steering column lower trim cover around the tilt lever and position it in place.

    2. Object Number: 1998798 Size: SH
  2. Position the steering column upper trim cover (1) to the steering column.
  3. Engage the steering column upper trim cover to the steering column lower trim cover.

    4. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  4. Install the steering column lower trim cover bolts (2) to the steering column lower trim cover (1) and tighten to 1.5 N·m (13 lb in).
