Power Steering Pump Replacement LZ4

Preliminary Procedures

  1. Remove the power steering pump pulley. Refer to Power Steering Pump Pulley Replacement .
  2. Remove the drive belt idler pulley. Refer to Drive Belt Idler Pulley Replacement .
  3. Remove as much power steering fluid from the power steering fluid reservoir as possible.
  4. Place drain pans under the vehicle as needed.

Engine Lift Bracket Bolt (Qty: 3)

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

Tighten
50 N·m (37 lb ft)

Power Steering Gear Inlet Hose

Tip
Discard the and install a NEW power steering gear inlet hose O-ring seal prior to installation of the hose.

Tighten
27 N·m (20 lb ft)

Power Steering Reservoir Inlet Hose

Power Steering Pump Bolt (Qty: 3)

Tighten
25 N·m (18 lb ft)

Power Steering Pump

Procedure

Fill and bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding .

Tip
Clean any excess power steering fluid from the vehicle.

Preliminary Procedures

  1. Remove the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .
  2. Remove the right front tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
  3. Remove as much power steering fluid from the remote power steering fluid reservoir as possible.
  4. Place drain pans under the vehicle as needed.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

Procedure

Discard the and install a NEW power steering gear inlet hose O-ring seal prior to installation of the hose.

Tighten
27 N·m (20 lb ft)

Engine Mount Adapter Bolt

Tighten
58 N·m (43 lb ft)

Power Steering Pump Bolt

Tighten
50 N·m (37 lb ft)

Power Steering Pump

Procedure

  1. Remove the power steering pump pulley. Refer to Power Steering Pump Pulley Replacement .
  2. Remove the engine mount adapter bracket bolts.
  3. Remove the engine mount adapter bracket.
  4. Fill and bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding .

Tip
Clean any excess power steering fluid from the vehicle.

Tighten
9 N·m (80 lb in)
