For 1990-2009 cars only
- Raise the hood.
- Clean the area around where the shift cable attaches to the transmission, if necessary.
- Push the shift cable adjustment retainer into the released position.
- Place the transmission range selector lever into the PARK position.
- From inside the vehicle, place the floor shift control into the PARK position.
- With both levers in the PARK position, push the shift cable adjustment retainer into the locked position.
- Confirm proper operation of the shift control system and repeat the adjustment procedure if the shift position detents feel vague or if there are shift concerns.
