Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 1275980 Size: SH
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
  2. Disconnect the positive battery cable.
  3. Remove the battery hold down retainer.

    4. Object Number: 1239098 Size: SH

    Important: Do not tip the battery more than 40 degrees during removal.

  4. Remove the battery.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1239098 Size: SH

    Important: Do not tip the battery more than 40 degrees during battery installation.

  1. Install the battery to the battery tray.

    2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  2. Install the battery hold down retainer.

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the battery hold down retainer bolt to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  3. Connect the positive battery cable.

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the cable bolt to 17 N·m (13 lb ft).

  4. Connect the negative battery cable bolt. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
