Fuel Tank Pressure Sensor Replacement Malibu Sedan

Removal Procedure

    Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in the Preface section.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection in Engine Electrical.

  2. Object Number: 1236104  Size: SH
  3. Relieve the system fuel pressure. Refer to Fuel Pressure Relief .
  4. Drain fuel tank. Refer to Fuel Tank Draining .
  5. Remove the fuel tank. Refer to Fuel Tank Replacement .
  6. Remove the electrical connector from the fuel tank pressure (FTP) sensor.
  7. Remove the FTP sensor from modular fuel sender.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 1236104  Size: SH
  1. Install the new FTP sensor to modular fuel sender.
  2. Install the electrical connector to FTP sensor.
  3. Install the fuel tank. Refer to Fuel Tank Replacement .
  4. Refill the tank.
  5. Install the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection in Engine Electrical.

Removal Procedure

    Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in the Preface section.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection in Engine Electrical.

  2. Object Number: 1236106  Size: SH
  3. Relieve the system fuel pressure. Refer to Fuel Pressure Relief .
  4. Drain fuel tank. Refer to Fuel Tank Draining .
  5. Remove the fuel tank. Refer to Fuel Tank Replacement .
  6. Remove the electrical connector from the fuel tank pressure sensor.
  7. Remove the fuel tank pressure sensor from modular fuel sender.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 1236106  Size: SH
  1. Install the new fuel tank pressure sensor to modular fuel sender.
  2. Install the electrical connector to fuel tank pressure sensor.
  3. Install the fuel tank. Refer to Fuel Tank Replacement .
  4. Refill tank.
  5. Install the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection in Engine Electrical.
