Rear Lateral Links and Trailing Arms Replacement Rear

Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Remove the tire and wheel. Refer to Wheel Removal in Tires and Wheels.

  3. Object Number: 175777  Size: SH
  4. Remove the following from the link to knuckle:
  5. • The bolt (1)
    • The nut (5)
    • The washer (4)
  6. Push the bolt (1) forward enough in order to provide link removal clearance.

  7. Object Number: 175776  Size: SH
  8. Remove the link nut (6) at the rear suspension support (1).
  9. Remove the rear lateral link (4).

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 175776  Size: SH
  1. Install the rear lateral link (4).
  2. Push the bolt (1) forward into the link (3).
  3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the link nut (6) at the rear suspension support.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the rear lateral link to suspension support bolt (1) to 120 N·m (89 lb ft).

  6. Install the following to the link to knuckle:
  7. • The nut (5)
    • The bolt (1)
    • The washer (4)

    Tighten
    Tighten the lateral link to knuckle to 120 N·m (89 lb ft).

  8. Install the tire and wheel. Refer to Wheel Installation in Tires and Wheels.
  9. Adjust the rear wheel alignment. Refer to Wheel Alignment Measurement in Wheel Alignment.

Rear Lateral Links and Trailing Arms Replacement Front

Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Remove the tire and wheel. Refer to Wheel Removal in Tires and Wheels.

  3. Object Number: 175777  Size: SH
  4. Remove the ABS wire harness from the lateral link.
  5. Remove the following from the link to knuckle:
  6. • The nut (5)
    • The bolt (1)
    • The washer (4)
  7. Push the bolt (1) forward to provide link removal clearance.

  8. Object Number: 175776  Size: SH
  9. Remove the link nut (8) and bolt (7) at the rear suspension support.
  10. Remove the front link (3) to the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the front link (3) to the vehicle.

  2. Object Number: 175776  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application.   3. Install the link bolt (7) and nut (8) at the rear suspension support (1).
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the rear link bolt to the suspension support 120 N·m (89 lb ft).

  5. Connect the ABS wire harness to the lateral link.

  7. Install the following to the link to knuckle:
  8. • The bolt (1)

    Tighten
    Tighten the link to knuckle bolt to 120 N·m (89 lb ft)

    • The washer (4)
    • The nut (5)
  9. Install the tire and wheel. Refer to Wheel Installation in Tires and Wheels.
  10. Adjust the rear wheel alignment. Refer to Wheel Alignment Measurement in Wheel Alignment.
