DTC Descriptor

DTC B3105: Keyless Entry System Key Not Programmed

Circuit/System Description

DTC B3105 sets if the remote function actuator (RFA) has not learned any key.

Conditions for Running the DTC

The RFA system must be enabled and a test is ran every time the key is cycled.

Conditions for Setting the DTC

This code is set if there are no learned key in the RFA.

Action Taken When the DTC Sets

The RFA system is inoperative.

Conditions for Clearing the DTC

The code is cleared as current when at least one key is programmed to the RFA.

Circuit/System Testing

  1. Verify that the transmitter is the correct type for the vehicle.
  2. If it is not the correct transmitter, replace the transmitter.
  3. Verify the scan tool KEY Programmed parameter is Yes.
  4. If not Yes, program the transmitter.
  5. Using scan tool, verify transmitter is transmitting signal when each button is pressed.
  6. If scan tool fails to indicate signal from transmitter, replace transmitter battery.
    If scan tool indicates a signal from one or more button presses, replace the transmitter.
  7. Replace the RFA module.
