This bulletin is being published to advise technicians on the correct installation of the rear brake pads. These pads have been designed to reduce brake squeal so its important that they are installed correctly.

(1)Note the asymmetrical slot cut out in the backing material of the rear brake pad. This must be installed on the piston side of the caliper.

The pads have an "asymmetrical" slot on the back of the pad (refer to Figure 1) which must be installed on the piston side of the caliper.

(1)This photo clearly shows the dot matrix wording of the location of the pad to be installed, e.g. left hand inner pad.

To assist technicians with identifying which pad is which, there is dot matrix wording on the lower side of each brake pad, advising of the correct location of the pad to be installed (refer to Figure 2).
