Makes 🢒 Chevrolet 🢒 2008 🢒 Kodiak C-Series (Conventional) C6/C7/C8 🢒 Engine 🢒 Engine Mechanical - 7.8L 🢒 Valve Lifter Bridge and Guide Inspection

    Important: The bridge must move smoothly.

  1. Measure the bridge inside diameter.

    2. Specification
    Production specification for the bridge is 0.050-90.80 mm (0.3563-0.3575 in).

  2. Measure the bridge guide outside diameter.

    3. Specification
    Production specification for the bridge is 9.024-9.030 mm (0.3553-0.3555 in).

  3. Measure the bridge guide to bridge clearance.

    4. Specification
    Production specification for the bridge is 0.020-0.56 (0.00079-0.00220) mm - Standard 0.1 (0.00394) in) - Limit.

  4. Replace the bridge guide if the bridge guide to bridge clearance exceeds 0.1 mm (0.00394 in).
  5. Weld a suitable bolt, threaded end facing up, to the bridge guide.
  6. Use a slide hammer to remove the bridge guide from the cylinder head.
