Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 660517 Size: SH
  1. Remove the cylinder head. Refer to Cylinder Head Replacement - Left Side or Cylinder Head Replacement - Right Side.
  2. Loosen the valve lifter guide retainer bolts.
  3. Remove the valve lifter guide retainers.
  4. Remove the valve lifter guides.
  5. Remove the valve lifters.
  6. If required, clean and inspect the lifters. Refer to Valve Lifters Cleaning and Inspection.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 660517 Size: SH
  1. Apply clean engine oil to the roller and outside of the valve lifter.
  2. Install the valve lifter.
  3. Install the valve lifter guides.

    4. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  4. Install the valve lifter guide retainer.
  5. Install the valve lifter guide retainer bolt.

    6. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 11 N·m (97 lb in).

  6. Install the cylinder head. Refer to Cylinder Head Replacement - Left Side or Cylinder Head Replacement - Right Side.
