Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 1335608 Size: SH
  1. Remove the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement.
  2. Remove the fuel filter assembly. Refer to Fuel Filter Assembly Replacement.
  3. Remove the right fuel rail fuel feed pipe. Refer to Fuel Injection Fuel Feed Front Pipe Replacement - Right Side.
  4. Remove the fuel injector pipes.

  5. Remove the fuel return pipe clamp bolt (1) and upper clamp.
  6. Remove the fuel return pipe hose clamps (2) and hose from the fuel rail and the return pipe.

    7. Object Number: 1866667 Size: SH
  7. Remove the fuel feed pipe (to fuel filter housing) clamp bolt (1) and upper clamp (2).
  8. Remove the fuel feed pipe (to fuel filter housing).

    9. Object Number: 1866668 Size: SH
  9. Remove the fuel rail bolts (1).
  10. Gently lift up on the fuel return pipe.
  11. Remove the fuel rail and bracket.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1866668 Size: SH
  1. Gently lift up on the fuel return pipe.
  2. Position the fuel rail and bracket.

    3. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  3. Install the fuel rail bolts (1).

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  4. Position the fuel feed pipe (to fuel filter housing).
  5. Install the fuel feed pipe (to fuel filter housing) upper clamp (2) and bolt (1).

    6. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  6. Install the fuel return pipe hose and clamps (2) to the fuel rail and the return pipe.
  7. Install the fuel return pipe upper clamp and bolt (1).

    8. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  8. Install the fuel injector pipes.

    9. Tighten
    Tighten the fittings to 41 N·m (30 lb ft).

  9. Install the right fuel rail fuel feed pipe. Refer to Fuel Injection Fuel Feed Front Pipe Replacement - Right Side.
  10. Install the fuel filter assembly. Refer to Fuel Filter Assembly Replacement.
  11. Install the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement.
  12. Prime the fuel system. Refer to Fuel System Priming.
  13. Start the engine. If the engine stalls, repeat the above step.
  14. Once the engine starts, inspect for fuel leaks.
