Models:2003-2004 Chevrolet Kodiak C4500-C8500 Series
2003-2004 GMC Topkick C4500-C8500 Series
with Driver or Passenger High Back Bucket Seat (RPO AS4 or AE1)

Condition

Some customers may comment on insufficient driver or passenger seat travel. This condition is more prevalent when the occupant is of taller stature.

Correction

On each of the bucket seat adjuster tracks there is a secondary restrictor bolt that can be removed to give the seat (driver or passenger) additional travel rearward. The restrictor bolt to be removed is the rear one and the front restrictor bolt must be left in. Remove both rear restrictor bolts from each adjuster of the seat or the seat will stop uneven. Use the procedure listed below.

Important: Please advise the customer that due to this increased seat travel, the seat back may contact the rear window on regular cab models.

  1. Remove the bolts retaining the seat to the seat adjusters.
  2. Remove the seat from the vehicle.

  3. Object Number: 1392471 Size: SH
  4. Remove the rear restrictor bolt (1) from each adjuster of the seat.
  5. Install the seat to the vehicle.
  6. Install the bolts retaining the seat to the adjusters.
  7. Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).
