The following information was omitted from the 2003 and 2004 Owner's Manuals for the above-mentioned vehicles. The procedure is slightly different than that which is used for GM engine systems.
- With the ignition in the RUN position and the engine off, press and hold the brake pedal down.
- While holding the brake pedal down, fully depress and release the throttle pedal 3 times in 5 seconds.
The Oil Life Monitor software will now be reset and the Change Engine Oil telltale (an oil can and wrench symbol) will no longer be illuminated.
The Oil Life Monitor software can also be reset using the CAT Service Tools.
