Front Bumper Replacement Steel Bumper

Removal Procedure

  1. Support the bumper.

  2. Object Number: 815629  Size: SH
  3. Remove the lower bolts, the washers, and the nuts that are holding the bumper to the brackets or the extension.

  4. Object Number: 815619  Size: SH
  5. Remove the upper bolts, the washers and the nuts.
  6. Remove the bumper from the brackets.

Installation Procedure

  1. Support the bumper.

  2. Object Number: 815619  Size: SH
  3. Install the upper bolts, the washers, and the nuts through the bumper to the brackets or the extension.

  4. Object Number: 815629  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Install the lower bolts, the washers, and the nuts that attach the bumper to the brackets or the extension.
  6. Tighten

        • Tighten the bumper nuts to 65 N·m (48 lb ft).
        • Tighten the bumper bracket bolts to 70 N·m (52 lb ft).

Front Bumper Replacement Swept Back Bumper

Removal Procedure

  1. Support the bumper.

  2. Object Number: 815629  Size: SH
  3. Remove the lower bolts, the washers, and the nuts that are holding the bumper to the brackets or the extension.

  4. Object Number: 815615  Size: SH
  5. Remove the upper bolts, the washers and the nuts.
  6. Remove the bumper from the brackets.

Installation Procedure

  1. Support the bumper.

  2. Object Number: 815629  Size: SH
  3. Install the upper bolts, the washers, and the nuts through the bumper to the brackets or the extension.

  4. Object Number: 815615  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application.   6. Tighten

        • Tighten the bumper nuts to 90 N·m (66 lb ft).
        • Tighten the bumper extension nuts to 24 N·m (18 lb ft).
        • Tighten the bumper bracket bolts to 183 N·m (134 lb ft).
