Did you perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle?

  1. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  2. Turn the headlamp switch to the HEAD position.
  3. Turn the headlamp switch to the DOME position.
  4. Press the surveillance mode switch.

Do the headlamps and interior lamps turn OFF?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Go to Step 3

  1. Disconnect the surveillance mode switch.
  2. Install a jumper at the surveillance mode switch connector between the surveillance mode switch signal circuit and ground.

Do the headlamps and interior lamps turn OFF?

Test for a high resistance or an open in the ground circuit of the surveillance mode switch. Refer to Circuit Testing and to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Test for a high resistance or and open in the surveillance mode switch signal circuit. Refer to Circuit Testing and to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Replace the surveillance mode switch. Refer to Emergency Vehicle Interior Switch Replacement .

Replace the body control module (BCM). Refer to Control Module References in Computer/Integrating Systems for replacement, setup and programming.
