Front Floor Console Replacement Impala

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 615823  Size: SH
  1. Remove the trim plate from the front floor console. Refer to Front Floor Console Trim Plate Replacement .
  2. Remove the following front floor console bolts:
  3. • Near the instrument panel (IP)
    • At the transaxle shift control lever
    • Under the mat in the rear bin
  4. Pull the console rearward in order to disengage the clips from the IP.

  5. Object Number: 615736  Size: SH
  6. Disconnect the electrical connectors.
  7. Remove the front floor console.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 615736  Size: SH
  1. Position the front floor console to the vehicle.
  2. Connect the electrical connectors.

  3. Object Number: 615823  Size: SH
  4. Install the front floor console. Engage the clips at the IP.
  5. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  6. Install the following front floor console bolts:
  7. • Near the instrument panel (IP)
    • At the transaxle shift control lever
    • Under the mat in the rear bin

    Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 12 N·m (106 lb in).

  8. Install the trim plate to the front floor console. Refer to Front Floor Console Trim Plate Replacement .

Front Floor Console Replacement Monte Carlo

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 615734  Size: SH
  1. Remove the trim plate from the front floor console. Refer to Front Floor Console Trim Plate Replacement .
  2. Disconnect the wiring harness connector and retainer.
  3. Open the console storage compartment.
  4. Remove the storage compartment mat.
  5. Remove the bolts from the bottom of the storage compartment.
  6. Remove the console bolts forward of the shift control lever.
  7. Remove the front floor console.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the front floor console.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure.   3. Install the console bolts forward of the shift control lever and at the bottom of the storage bin.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the console bolts to 12 N·m (106 lb in).

  5. Install the storage compartment mat.
  6. Close the console storage compartment.
  7. Connect the wiring harness connector and retainer.
  8. Install the front floor console trim plate. Refer to Front Floor Console Trim Plate Replacement .
