Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 519517  Size: SH
  1. Remove the instrument panel (I/P) fuse block access hole cover.
  2. Disengage the left I/P insulator retainers from the lower I/P trim pad.
  3. Remove the steering column filler panel bolts.
  4. Pull the steering column filler panel rearward to disengage the retainers. Lower the filler panel away from the I/P lower trim panel.
  5. Disconnect the electrical connector from the rear compartment release switch.
  6. Remove the rear compartment release switch.
  7. Remove the steering column filler panel.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the rear compartment release switch.
  2. Connect the electrical connector to the rear compartment release switch.
  3. Align the steering column filler panel to the I/P lower trim panel. Press the filler panel retainers into the I/P lower trim panel openings.
  4. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Install the steering column filler panel bolts.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  7. Install the left I/P insulator retainers to the lower I/P trim pad.
  8. Install the I/P fuse block access hole cover.
