Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 678337  Size: SH
  1. Open the assist handle covers using a small flat bladed tool.
  2. Remove the screws from the assist handle.

  3. Object Number: 678338  Size: SH
  4. Remove the assist handle.
  5. Important: The side rail lamp base plate plastic retainers might drop out. Note the location of the retainers.

  6. Remove the side rail lamp base plate.
  7. Pull the service loop loose from the glue.
  8. Disconnect the electrical connector from the side rail lamp.

  9. Object Number: 678340  Size: SH
  10. Remove the side rail lamp socket from the base plate by sliding off.

  12. Remove the bulb if necessary.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 678342  Size: SH
  1. Install the bulb if necessary.
  2. Install the side rail lamp socket to the base plate by sliding on.

  3. Object Number: 678343  Size: SH
  4. Connect the electrical connector to the side rail lamp.
  5. Install the service loop to glue using foam tape.

  6. Object Number: 678339  Size: SH
  7. Align the side rail lamp base plate to the plastic retainers.

  9. Position the side rail lamp assist handle to the base plate and the plastic retainers.
  10. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  11. Install the screws to the side rail lamp assist handle.
  12. Tighten
    Tighten the side rail lamp assist handle screws to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  13. Close the assist handle covers pressing into place until fully seated.
