Removal Procedure
- Remove the left inner fender brace. Refer to Front Fender Upper Diagonal Brace Replacement in Body Front End.
- Remove the air intake duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Inlet Duct Replacement .
- Remove the 2 screws (2) from the 2 air cleaner housing sections.
- Remove the air cleaner housing cover assembly (1).
- Without disconnecting the PCM connectors, remove the PCM (4) and harness from the air cleaner housing (3).
- Remove the air cleaner housing (1) by pulling the housing from the 2 rubber grommets in the engine compartment. Inspect the assembly for signs of damage and replace if required.
Installation Procedure
- Install the air cleaner housing by pushing the housing into the 2 rubber grommets (2) in the engine compartment.
- Install the PCM (4) and the harness into the air cleaner housing (1).
- Install the air cleaner housing cover assembly (1).
- Install the 2 screws (2) into the 2 air cleaner housing sections.
- Install the air cleaner intake duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Inlet Duct Replacement .
- Install the left inner fender brace. Refer to Front Fender Upper Diagonal Brace Replacement in Body Front End.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
Tighten
Tighten the screws to 4 N·m (35 lb in).
