Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Remove the engine oil drain plug in order to drain the engine oil.

  3. Object Number: 440880  Size: SH
  4. Disconnect the electrical connector (1) from the oil level sensor.

  5. Object Number: 441263  Size: SH
  6. Remove the oil level sensor from the oil pan.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 441263  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  1. Install the oil level sensor to the oil pan.
  2. Tighten
    Tighten the oil level sensor to 20 N·m (15 lb ft).

  3. Connect the electrical connector (1) to the oil level sensor.

  4. Object Number: 190564  Size: SH
  5. Install the engine oil drain plug.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the drain plug to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).

  7. Lower the vehicle.
  8. Refill the engine with new engine oil. Refer to Approximate Fluid Capacities and Fluid and Lubricant Recommendations in Maintenance and Lubrication.
  9. Start the engine and inspect for oil leaks.
