Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 16120  Size: SH
  1. Turn OFF the ignition.
  2. Loosen the power steering pump in order to gain access to the camshaft position (CMP) sensor. Refer to Power Steering Pump Replacement in Power Steering System.
  3. Disconnect the CMP sensor .
  4. Remove the attaching bolt.
  5. Remove the CMP sensor.
  6. Inspect the sensor for wear, cracks, or leakage if the sensor is not being replaced.

Installation Procedure

  1. Lubricate the O-ring with clean engine oil and replace the O-ring if damaged.

  2. Object Number: 16120  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the camshaft position sensor.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the retaining bolt to 10 N·m (88 lb in).

  5. Connect the CMP sensor electrical connector.
  6. Install the power steering pump. Refer to Power Steering Pump Replacement in Power Steering System.
