Did you perform the Lighting System Diagnostic System Check?

Go to Step 2

Go to Diagnostic System Check - Lighting Systems in Lighting Systems.

  1. Turn the ignition to the ON position.
  2. Turn the headlamp switch to the PARK position.
  3. Turn the I/P dimmer switch to the high position.

Are ALL of the I/P lamps on?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections

Go to Step 3

Using a test lamp connected to a known good ground, backprobe the I/P dimmer control circuit feed at the inoperable I/P lamp.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 7

Go to Step 4

Inspect the I/P dimmer control circuit feed for an poor connection or an open between the inoperable I/P lamp and the LH I/P Accessory Wiring Junction Block.

Is the circuit OK?

Go to Step 6

Go to Step 5

Repair a poor connection or an open in the I/P dimmer control circuit, between the LH I/P Accessory Wiring Junction Block and the inoperable I/P lamp.

Did you complete the repair?

Go to Step 10

Replace the LH I/P Accessory Wiring Junction Block.

Did you complete the repair?

Go to Step 10

Using a test lamp, backprobe the inoperable I/P lamp between the I/P dimmer control circuit and the ground circuit.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 8

Go to Step 9

Replace the inoperable I/P lamp.

Did you complete the repair?

Repair a poor connection or an open in the ground circuit of the inoperable I/P lamp.
