Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 177084  Size: SH
  1. Remove the left side instrument panel insulator. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
  2. Remove the left carpet retainer and pull carpet back. Refer to Front Carpet Retainer Replacement in Interior Trim.
  3. Disconnect the electrical connector from the switch.
  4. Remove the mounting screw.
  5. Remove the parking brake indicator switch (1).

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the parking brake indicator switch (1).
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the mounting screw.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the mounting screw to 3 N·m (26 lb in).

  5. Connect the electrical connector to the switch.
  6. Check the operation of the switch.

  7. Install the left carpet retainer and carpet. Refer to Front Carpet Retainer Replacement in Interior Trim.
  8. Install the left side instrument panel insulator. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
