Preliminary Procedures

1. Disconnect the battery. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection.
2. Remove the ECM from the bracket. Refer to Engine Control Module Replacement.
3. Remove the TCM from the bracket. Refer to Transmission Control Module Replacement.

Underhood Electrical Center/Junction Block Cover Tab (Qty: 2)

Procedure

To remove the junction block cover use a flat-bladed tool to release the tab.

Underhood Electrical Center/Junction Block Power Bolt (Qty: 4)

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

Tip
The bolts are part of the underhood electrical center/junction block power.

Tighten
10 N·m (89 lb in)

Underhood Electrical Center/Junction Block Nut

Procedure

Disconnect the battery positive cable from the junction block by removing the nut.

Tighten
7 N·m (62 lb in)

Underhood Electrical Center/Junction Block Tab (Qty: 6)

Procedure

Remove the electrical center/junction block by using a hook-like tool to disengage the tabs.

Underhood Electrical Center or Junction Block Lower Cover Bolt

Procedure

Remove the electrical connector inside the block before removing the lower cover.

Tighten
20 N·m (15 lb ft)

Underhood Electrical Center or Junction Block Lower Cover Nut

Procedure

Remove the electrical connector inside the block before removing the lower cover.

Tighten
7 N·m (62 lb ft)
