Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection.
  2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.

  4. Remove the front transmission mount thru bolt.

  5. Object Number: 851620  Size: SH
  6. Remove the rear transmission mount thru bolt.
  7. Lower the vehicle.
  8. Remove the underhood electrical center cover.

  9. Object Number: 873343  Size: SH
  10. Disconnect the engine control module harness connector  (3, 4).
  11. Disconnect the positive battery cables  (1) from the under hood electrical center.

  13. Remove the underhood electrical center tray bracket nuts  (1) and bolt  (2).
  14. Disconnect the wiring harness retainer from the tray bracket.

  16. Lift the electrical center up and swing it back and out of the way.

  18. Support the transmission with an hydraulic floor jack. Use a block of wood between the jack and the transmission.

  20. Remove the transmission mount to transmission bolts.

  22. Remove the transmission mount to mid-rail bolts.

  24. Using the floor jack, slowly lower the transmission just enough to remove the transmission mount from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 851557  Size: SH
  1. Install the transmission mount to the mid-rail.
  2. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  3. Hand start the transmission mount to mid-rail bolts.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 34 N·m (25 lb ft).

  5. Using a hydraulic jack, raise the transmission until it contacts the transmission mount.

  6. Object Number: 851556  Size: SH

    Note: The transmission mount to transmission bolts must be hand started. Do not pry the transmission or mount to align the holes.

  7. Hand start the transmission mount to transmission bolts using the following sequence:
  8. 4.1. Rear Bolt
    4.2. Middle Bolt
    4.3. Front Bolt
  9. Using the previous sequence, tighten the transmission mount bolts.
  10. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).

  11. Reposition the underhood electrical center.
  12. Connect the wiring harness retainer to the tray bracket.

  14. Install the electrical center nuts  (1) and bolts  (2).
  15. Tighten

        • Tighten the nut to 10 N·m (89 lb in).
        • Tighten the bolt to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  16. Install the positive battery cables (1) to the underhood electrical center.
  17. Tighten
    Tighten the positive cable nut to 15 N·m (11 lb ft).

  18. Connect the engine control module harness connectors  (3, 4).
  19. Install the underhood electrical center cover.
  20. Raise the vehicle.

  22. Hand tighten the front transmission mount thru bolt
  23. Hand tighten the rear transmission mount thru bolt.
  24. Tighten the front transmission mount thru bolt.
  25. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 100 N·m (74 lb ft).


    Object Number: 851620  Size: SH
  26. Tighten the rear transmission mount thru bolt.
  27. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 100 N·m (74 lb ft).

  28. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection.
