Preliminary Procedures

•	Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling.

•	Remove the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement.

•	Remove the generator. Refer to Generator Replacement.

Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) Coolant Pipe to Thermostat Housing Bolt

Tighten
21 N·m (16 lb ft)

Tighten
21 N·m (16 lb ft)

EGR Coolant Pipe

Tip

•	Compress the clamp and disconnect the EGR coolant pipe from the EGR cooler tube.

•	When installing the EGR coolant pipe, replace the O-ring seal.

1	EGR Coolant Pipe Clamp Procedure Using the J 38185 , compress the clamps. Special Tools J 38185 Hose Clamp Pliers
2	EGR Coolant Pipe Procedure Disconnect the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) coolant pipe from the EGR cooler tube.
