Removal Procedure

    Caution: To avoid any vehicle damage, serious personal injury or death when major components are removed from the vehicle and the vehicle is supported by a hoist, support the vehicle with jack stands at the opposite end from which the components are being removed and strap the vehicle to the hoist.

  1. Raise the vehicle.
  2. Remove the fuel tank filler cap.
  3. Remove the protective shield.

  5. Open the air bleed valve on the top of the fuel manager/filter in order to release any of the pressure in the fuel supply system.

  6. Object Number: 72340  Size: SH
  7. Disconnect the wiring harnesses and the fuel lines. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .

  8. Object Number: 72341  Size: SH
  9. Remove the mounting bolts which attach the fuel manager/filter to the frame.
  10. Remove the fuel manager/filter.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 72340  Size: SH
  1. Connect the fuel lines and the wiring harnesses to the assembly. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .

  2. Object Number: 72341  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the fuel manager/filter to the frame.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the mounting bolts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  5. Install the protective shield.
  6. Bleed air from the fuel manager/filter. Refer to Fuel Feed Pipe and Return Pipe Purging .
  7. Reinstall the fuel tank filler cap.
  8. Lower the vehicle.
