- Inspect the following components for cracked joints, broken welds,
and corrosion damage, which could permit exhaust fumes to seep into the rear
compartment or passenger compartment:
| • | Inspect the exhaust pipes |
| • | Inspect the exhaust seals |
| • | Inspect the catalytic converters |
- Inspect the exhaust system, including the heat shields. The exhaust
system must be free from the following conditions:
- The following conditions usually cause conditions such as leaks,
binding, grounding and excessive vibration:
| • | Loose or damaged flange bolts |
| • | Loose or damaged exhaust seals |
| • | Loose or damaged heat shields |
| • | Loose or damaged brackets |
- Align and replace misaligned or damaged components, as necessary.
