  1. Disconnect the connector at the engine coolant level indicator sensor.
  2. Place the ignition switch in the RUN position.
  3. Connect an unpowered test lamp between the engine coolant level indicator module connector, cavity A for CKT 39 (PNK), and ground.

Does the test lamp light?

Repair the open in CKT 39 (PNK) between splice S216 and the engine coolant level indicator module.

Is the low engine coolant indicator operative?

Connect a J 39200 between the engine coolant level indicator module connector, cavity C for CKT 150 (BLK), and ground.

Is continuity present?

--

Repair the open in CKT 150 (BLK) between the engine coolant level indicator module and ground G201.

Is the low engine coolant indicator operative?

--

Connect a fused jumper wire between the engine coolant level indicator module connector, cavity E for CKT 68 (YEL/BLK), and ground.

Does the low coolant indicator lamp light?

  1. Disconnect the connector at the instrument cluster.
  2. Connect a J 39200 between the instrument cluster connector, cavity A5, and the engine coolant level indicator module connector, cavity E, for CKT 68 (YEL/BLK).

Is continuity present?

Replace the instrument cluster. Refer to Instrument Cluster Replacement .

Is the low engine coolant indicator operative?

Repair the open in CKT 68 (YEL/BLK) between the instrument cluster and the engine coolant level indicator module.

Is the low engine coolant indicator operative?

  1. Verify that the radiator is full.
  2. Connect an ohmmeter between the engine coolant level indicator module connector, cavity F for CKT 1478 (LT GRN), and ground.

Is the resistance less than the specified value?

5000 ohms

Replace the engine coolant level indicator module.

Is the low engine coolant indicator operative?

  1. Disconnect the connector at the low engine coolant level indicator sensor.
  2. Connect a J 39200 between the low engine coolant level indicator sensor connector, cavity A for CKT 1478 (LT GRN), and ground.

Is continuity present?

Repair the short to ground in CKT 1478 (LT GRN) between the engine coolant level indicator module and the low engine coolant level indicator sensor.

Is the low engine coolant indicator operative?

    • Ground

    • The engine coolant level indicator module
  3. Repair the open in the CKT 39 (PNK) wire between the following components:
  4. • The splice S216
    • The engine coolant level indicator module

Is the repair complete?

Connect a fused jumper wire between the following components:

    • The engine coolant level indicator module connector cavity E for the CKT 68 (YEL/BLK) wire
    • Ground

Did the Low Coolant lamp light?

  1. Locate the open in the CKT 150 (BLK) wire between the following components:
  2. • The engine coolant level indicator module
    • Ground G201
  3. Repair the open in the CKT 150 (BLK) wire between the following components:
  4. • The engine coolant level indicator module
    • Ground G201

Is the repair complete?

  1. Ensure that the radiator is full.
  2. Connect an ohmmeter between the following components:
  3. • The engine coolant level indicator module connector cavity F for the CKT 1478 (LT GRN) wire
    • Ground

Is the resistance between the specified value or more?

10,000- 50,000 ohms

  1. Disconnect the connector at the instrument cluster.
  2. Connect a J 39200 between the following components:
  3. • The instrument cluster connector cavity A5
    • The engine coolant level indicator module connector cavity E for the CKT 68 (YEL/BLK) wire

Is continuity present?

Replace the instrument cluster.

  1. Locate the open in the CKT 68 (YEL/BLK) wire between the following components:
  2. • The instrument cluster
    • The engine coolant level indicator module
  3. Repair the open in the CKT 68 (YEL/BLK) wire between the following components:
  4. • The instrument cluster
    • The engine coolant level indicator module

Is the repair complete?

  3. • The low engine coolant level indicator sensor connector cavity A for the CKT 1478 (LT GRN) wire

  2. • The engine coolant level indicator module
    • The low engine coolant level indicator sensor
  3. Repair the short to ground in the CKT 1478 (LT GRN) between the following components:
  4. • The engine coolant level indicator module
    • The low engine coolant level indicator sensor
