Makes 🢒 Chevrolet 🢒 2008 🢒 Equinox 🢒 Engine 🢒 Engine Mechanical - 2.8L, 3.0L, 3.2L, or 3.6L 🢒 Exhaust Manifold Installation - Right Side

    Object Number: 1830271 Size: SH
  1. Install the engine block heater, if equipped.

    2. Object Number: 1412145 Size: SH
  2. Install a NEW crankshaft position (CKP) sensor O-ring.

    3. Object Number: 1830269 Size: SH
  3. Install the CKP sensor.

    4. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1830267 Size: SH
  4. Install the CKP sensor bolt.

    5. Tighten
    Tighten the CKP sensor bolt to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  5. Install the right knock sensor.

    6. Object Number: 1830261 Size: SH
  6. Install the right knock sensor bolt. Ensure the knock sensor is oriented with the harness connector positioned to the front on the right side (1).

    7. Tighten
    Tighten the right knock sensor bolt to 23 N·m (17 lb ft).

  7. Install the right knock sensor heat shield.

    8. Object Number: 1830257 Size: SH
  8. Install the right knock sensor heat shield bolts.

    9. Tighten
    Tighten the right knock sensor heat shield bolts to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).


    Object Number: 1830255 Size: SH
  9. Install the studs into the right cylinder head.

    10. Tighten
    Tighten the studs to 10 N·m (89 lb in).


    Object Number: 1830254 Size: SH
  10. Install a NEW right exhaust manifold gasket.

    11. Object Number: 1830253 Size: SH
  11. Install the right exhaust manifold.

    12. Object Number: 1830252 Size: SH
  12. Loosely install the right exhaust manifold nuts onto the studs in the right cylinder head.

    13. Object Number: 1830251 Size: SH
  13. Loosely install the right exhaust manifold bolts into the right cylinder head.
  14. Tighten the right exhaust manifold nuts and bolts.

    15. Tighten
    Tighten the right exhaust manifold nuts and bolts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).


    Object Number: 1830250 Size: SH
  15. Place the right exhaust manifold heat shield in position.

    16. Object Number: 1830249 Size: SH
  16. Install the exhaust manifold heat shield bolts.

    17. Tighten
    Tighten the exhaust manifold heat shield bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).
