Makes 🢒 Chevrolet 🢒 2008 🢒 Equinox 🢒 Engine 🢒 Engine Mechanical - 2.8L, 3.0L, 3.2L, or 3.6L 🢒 Evaporative Emission Canister Purge Solenoid Valve Replacement

Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 1836230 Size: SH
  1. Remove the fuel injector sight shield. Refer to Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement.
  2. Disconnect the engine wiring harness electrical connector (4) from the evaporative emission (EVAP) purge solenoid.

    3. Object Number: 1834975 Size: SH
  3. Disconnect the EVAP pipe quick connect fitting (1) from the EVAP purge solenoid. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service.

    4. Object Number: 1836392 Size: SH
  4. Disconnect the EVAP pipe quick connect fitting (2) from the EVAP purge solenoid. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service.
  5. Remove the EVAP purge solenoid bracket bolt (3).
  6. Remove the EVAP purge solenoid.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1836392 Size: SH
  1. Install the EVAP purge solenoid.

    2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  2. Install the EVAP purge solenoid bracket bolt (3).

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  3. Connect the EVAP pipe quick connect fitting (2) to the EVAP purge solenoid. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service.

  4. Connect the EVAP pipe quick connect fitting (1) to the EVAP purge solenoid. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service.

    5. Object Number: 1836230 Size: SH
  5. Connect the engine wiring harness electrical connector (4) to the EVAP purge solenoid.
  6. Install the fuel injector sight shield. Refer to Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement.
