Removal Procedure

    Important: The evaporative emission (EVAP) canister filter cover must also be replaced when the EVAP filter is replaced to ensure proper operation of the EVAP canister.

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  2. Remove the EVAP canister from the vehicle. Refer to Evaporative Emission Canister Replacement .

  3. Object Number: 1455831  Size: SH
  4. Carefully release the canister filter cover rear retaining tabs.
  5. Carefully release the canister filter cover forward retaining tabs and remove the cover from the EVAP canister.
  6. Discard the EVAP canister filter cover.

  7. Object Number: 1455832  Size: SH
  8. Remove the filter from the canister and discard the filter.
  9. Clean the inside of the EVAP canister filter housing with a clean shop towel.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 1455832  Size: SH
  1. Install a NEW filter to the canister filter housing.
  2. Important: Ensure that the seal is properly seated in the NEW EVAP filter cover.


    Object Number: 1459796  Size: SH
  3. Install a NEW EVAP filter cover to the EVAP canister.
  4. Install the EVAP canister to the vehicle. Refer to Evaporative Emission Canister Replacement .
  5. Lower the vehicle.
