    • 87 91 188 Screw Press Support
    • 87 92 202 Output Shaft Bearing Race Sleeve

    Object Number: 895195  Size: SH

    Notice: Use a hollow drift or wrap a short piece of tubing around the vent filter when tapping into the case. If the mesh of the vent is damaged during installation, it will no longer perform its venting function, and may cause transaxle fluid leaks at other locations.

    Important: Do not install the differential bearing or seal retainer at this time.

  1. Carefully tap in a new transaxle vent filter from the inside out.

  2. Object Number: 1227204  Size: SH
  3. Press in the input shaft bearing race using the 87 92 202 . Use the 87 91 188 as a base for the pressing operation.

  4. Object Number: 895177  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Install the input shaft bearing retainer using 1.5 mm (0.6 in) of shims, and tighten the screws evenly in a crisscross pattern.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the input shaft bearing retainer bolts to 38 N·m (28 lb ft) .

  7. Press in the output shaft bearing race using the 83 90 312 . Use the 87 91 188 as the base for the pressing operation.
