J 1859-A (DW310-010) Steering Wheel Puller

1. Turn the steering wheel to the straight-ahead position.
2. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
3. Remove the supplemental inflatable restraint (SIR) module. Refer to Inflatable Restraint Steering Wheel Module Replacement .



4. Remove the steering wheel nut.
5. Use paint in order to place match marks on the steering column shaft and on the steering wheel.



6. Remove the steering wheel using the J 1859-A (DW310-010).

1. Align the match marks on the steering wheel and the steering column shaft. Turn the signal canceling cam on the wheel to the left.
2. Install the steering wheel.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

3. Install the steering wheel nut.

Tighten
Tighten the steering wheel nut to 35 N·m (26 lb ft).

4. Install the SIR module. Refer to Refer to Inflatable Restraint Steering Wheel Module Replacement .
5. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
