Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve Pipe Replacement Intake

1. Remove the intake exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) pipe retaining bolts and the intake EGR pipe.
2. Remove the intake EGR pipe gasket.

Caution: Refer to Safety Glasses Caution in the Preface section.




1. Clean the intake EGR pipe mating surfaces.
2. Install a new gasket.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

3. Install the intake EGR pipe.

Tighten
Tighten the intake EGR pipe retaining bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve Pipe Replacement Exhaust

1. Remove the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) pipe flange-to-EGR valve retaining bolts.
2. Remove the exhaust pipe bracket-to-cylinder head long side retaining bolt.
3. Remove the EGR pipe gasket.



4. Remove the EGR pipe-to-heater adapter retaining nuts.
5. Remove the exhaust pipe bracket-to-cylinder head short side retaining bolt.
6. Remove the EGR pipe gasket.

Caution: Refer to Safety Glasses Caution in the Preface section.




1. Clean the EGR pipe mating surfaces.
2. Install a new EGR pipe gasket.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

3. Install the EGR pipe.

Tighten

•	Tighten the EGR pipe-to-heater adapter retaining nuts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

•	Tighten the exhaust pipe bracket-to-cylinder head short side retaining bolt to 20 N·m (15 lb ft).




4. Install the remaining EGR pipe bolts.

Tighten

•	Tighten the EGR pipe flange-to-EGR valve retaining bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

•	Tighten the exhaust pipe bracket-to-cylinder head long side retaining bolt to 10 N·m (89 lb in).
