Removal Procedure

    Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1256067  Size: SH
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
  3. Remove the nut at the compressor hose connecting block.
  4. Disconnect the electrical connector at the pressure transducer.

  5. Object Number: 1256068  Size: SH
  6. Remove the nut at the condenser connecting block.

  7. Object Number: 1256070  Size: SH
  8. Remove the high-pressure pipe-to-receiver-dryer connecting block retaining nut.

  9. Object Number: 1256071  Size: SH
  10. Remove the surge tank. Refer to Radiator Surge Tank Replacement .
  11. Remove the high-pressure pipe-to-evaporator flange connecting block retaining nut.

  12. Object Number: 1256072  Size: SH
  13. Remove the bolt and the nut which secure the clamps that hold the high pressure pipe to the vehicle.
  14. Remove the high-pressure pipe from the vehicle.
  15. Cap the opening at the receiver-dryer to prevent contamination.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 1256072  Size: SH
  1. Position the high-pressure pipe into the vehicle.

  2. Object Number: 1256070  Size: SH
  3. Install a new O-ring on the pipe at the receiver dryer.
  4. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  5. Install the high-pressure pipe-to-receiver-dryer connecting block nut.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the high-pressure pipe-to-receiver-dryer connecting block nut to 14 N·m (10 lb ft).

  7. Install the high-pressure pipe to-evaporator flange connecting block retaining nut.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the high-pressure pipe-to-evaporator flange connecting block retaining nut to 15 N·m (11 lb ft).

  9. Install the nut at the condenser connecting block.
  10. Tighten
    Tighten the condenser connecting block nut to 16 N·m (12 lb ft).

  11. Install the nut at the compressor hose connecting block.
  12. Tighten
    Tighten the compressor hose connecting block nut to 38 N·m (28 lb ft).

  13. Install the bolt and the nut which secure the clamp that hold the high pressure pipe to the vehicle.
  14. Connect the electrical connector to the pressure transducer.
  15. Install the surge tank. Refer to Radiator Surge Tank Replacement .
  16. Connect the negative battery cable.
  17. Evacuate and recharge the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
