Circuit Description

This DTC is used to identify the condition of CAN (Communicate Area Network) between EBCM (Electronic Brake Control Module) and ECM (Engine Control Module) or TCM (Transaxle Control Module).

Conditions for Setting the DTC

    • Wiring harness (or connector) between EBCM and ECM (or TCM) is shorted or opened.
    • ECM (or TCM) or EBCM internal fault.

Action Taken When the DTC Sets

    • DTC C1605, C1611, C1612, C1616 is (are) stored.
    • TCS disabled, TCS waring lamp turns on.

Conditions for Clearing the DTC

If the conditions that the DTC C1605, C1611, C1612, C1616 is (are) no longer presents, then the DTC (s) can be cleared by scan tool.

Check the ECM and TCM.

Did you find any DTCs?

Go to Step 3

  1. Clear all the DTCs and the cause of the DTCs.
  2. Clear again the DTC using scan tool.

  1. Check the wiring, terminal and connectors between the EBCM and the ECM (TCM).
  2. Repair the wiring, terminals and connectors between the EBCM and the ECM(TCM). Check again the DTC using scan tool.
  3. Check again the DTC using scan tool.

Did you find the DTC again?

Go to Step 5

System OK

Replace the EBCM and check again the DTC using scan tool.

Did you find the DTC again?

Go to Step 2
