Conditions for Setting the DTC

    • The solenoid valve circuit is open or ground is short.
    • Short the solenoid valve circuit to power.

Action Taken When the DTC Sets

    • The antilock brake system (ABS)/traction control system (TCS) function is inoperative.
    • The ABS warning lamp is ON.
    • The TCS warning lamp is ON.

Conditions for Clearing the DTC

    • If the conditions that set DTC C0072/74 are no longer present, the DTC can be cleared by scan tool.
    • The DTC that has not occurred in 100 drive cycles will be cleared from the history data.

Did you perform the Diagnostic System Check-ABS?

  1. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
  2. Inspect any damage from the electronic brake control modulator (EBCM) and hydraulic modulator.

Was any damage found?

Go to Step 3

Go to Step 4

Replace the EBCM and hydraulic modulator.

Did you complete the replacement?

System OK

  1. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
  2. Disconnect the EBCM connector.
  3. Remove the EBCM.
  4. Inspect the rust and oil leakage from the EBCM and hydraulic modulator.

Was any damage found?

Go to Step 3

Go to Step 5

  1. Connect the scan tool.
  2. Turn the ignition switch ON.
  3. Remove the DTCs.
  4. Implement the road test.

Were any DTCs found?

Go to Step 3
