Luggage Compartment Description and Operation Coupe

The rear compartment lid is operated by either the interior or exterior rear compartment lid release switch or the keyless entry system. The rear compartment lid system contains the following components:

    • Body Control Module (BCM)
    • Remote Control Door Lock Receiver
    • Interior Rear Compartment Lid Release Switch
    • Exterior Rear Compartment Lid Release Switch
    • Rear Compartment Lid Pull Down Actuator

The rear compartment lid is operated by the either the interior or exterior rear compartment lid release switch. When either switch is pressed, the trunk release switch signal circuit is switched to ground. When this input is seen, the BCM grounds the trunk release relay control circuit, opening the rear compartment lid. If accessing the rear compartment using the exterior rear compartment lid release switch, a valid keyless entry transmitter is required to be within a 1 meter range of the rear comparment lid release switch. This allows the required keyless access communications to occur between the rear compartment antenna and the keyless entry transmitter. For more information about keyless access, refer to Keyless Entry System Description and Operation .

When the rear compartment lid is open, the trunk ajar switch signal circuit is grounded, providing an ajar input to the BCM.

Luggage Compartment Description and Operation Convertable and Z06

The rear compartment lid is operated by either the interior or exterior rear compartment lid release switch or the keyless entry system. The rear compartment lid system contains the following components:

    • Body Control Module (BCM)
    • Remote Control Door Lock Receiver
    • Interior Rear Compartment Lid Release Switch
    • Exterior Rear Compartment Lid Release Switch
    • Rear Compartment Lid Latch Assembly
    • TRUNK RELEASE Relay

Important: The rear compartment lid release will only operate if the folding top is either fully extended or fully retracted. If fully extended, the folding top must be latched at the windshield header and the tonneau fully closed. If the folding top is retracted, the tonneau must be fully closed. If the tonneau is ajar in either folding top position or the folding top is not latched when extended, rear compartment lid release functionality will be suspended.

The rear compartment lid is operated by pressing either the interior or exterior rear compartment lid release switch. When either switch is pressed, the trunk release switch signal circuit is switched to ground. When this input is seen, the body control module (BCM) grounds the coil side of the TRUNK RELEASE relay via the trunk release relay control circuit. When the trunk release relay circuit is grounded, the switch side of the TRUNK RELEASE relay closes and provides battery voltage to the rear compartment lid latch assembly. This will allow the rear compartment lid to release.

When the rear compartment lid is open, the trunk ajar switch signal circuit is grounded, providing a truck ajar input to the BCM.
