Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the engine control module (ECM). Refer to Engine Control Module Replacement in Engine Controls - 6.0L.
  2. Remove the mounting bolts for the transmission control module (TCM).
  3. Disconnect the electrical connector.
  4. Remove the TCM.

Installation Procedure

  1. Reconnect the electrical connector.
  2. Position the TCM in the mounting bracket.
  3. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  4. Install the mounting bolts.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the mounting bolts to 2.0 N·m (17 lb in).

  6. Install the ECM. Refer to Engine Control Module Replacement in Engine Controls - 6.0L.
  7. Important: It is recommended that transmission adaptive pressure (TAP) information be reset.

    Resetting the TAP values using a scan tool will erase all learned values in all cells. As a result, The ECM, PCM or TCM will need to relearn TAP values. Transmission performance may be affected as new TAP values are learned.

  8. Reset the TAP values. Refer to Transmission Adaptive Functions .
