MOTOR OIL REQUIREMENTS (INFORMATIONAL)

SUBJECT: INFORMATION ON MOTOR OIL REQUIREMENTS

VEHICLES AFFECTED: 1992-93 "Y" MODEL WITH 5.7L ENGINE (VIN P, RPO LT1)

This bulletin has been written to inform technicians of the motor oil requirements for the LT1 (VIN P) 5.7L V8 engine in the 1992-93 Chevrolet Corvette.

The 1992-93 Chevrolet Corvette with the LT1 (VIN P) 5.7L V8 engine is filled with Mobil 1 SAE 5W-30 synthetic motor oil at the assembly plant. GMSPO does not stock synthetic oil under the Goodwrench name. Whenever changing or adding motor oil to this engine, use of an oil which meets GM spec 4718M is required. Recommended motor oils are Mobil 1 or equivalent.
