Programmable Automatic Door Locks

If the vehicle has power door locks, it is equipped with a feature that enables you to program the power door locks.

In the programming mode, the driver information center (DIC) will display the following features:

    • AUTOMATIC LOCKING
    • AUTOMATIC UNLOCKING
    • REMOTE LOCK FEEDBACK
    • REMOTE UNLOCK FEEDBACK

The following instructions detail how to enter the programming mode for the power door lock feature:

  1. With the engine OFF, place the ignition in the LOCK position.
  2. Press the power door lock switch down for 3 seconds.
  3. Press the control stem for more than 2 seconds to view the modes and 1 second to select a mode.
  4. The following is a list of available programming options:

    • Mode 1--All doors lock when the vehicle is shifted out of PARK (P) for automatic transmission, or when the vehicle speed is greater than 15 mph (24 km/h) for manual transmission. All doors unlock when the vehicle is shifted into PARK (P) for automatic transmission, or when the key is removed from the ignition for manual transmission.
    • Mode 2--All doors lock when the vehicle is shifted out of PARK (P) for automatic transmission, or when the vehicle speed is greater than 15 mph (24 km/h) for manual transmission. Only the drivers door unlocks when the vehicle is shifted into PARK (P) for automatic transmission, or when the key is removed from the ignition for manual transmission.
    • Mode 3--All doors lock when the vehicle is shifted out of PARK (P) for automatic transmission, or when the vehicle speed is greater than 15 mph (24 km/h) for manual transmission. None of the doors unlock.

Programmable Remote Lock and Unlock Feedback

The following instructions detail how to enter the programming mode for the remote lock and unlock feedback feature:

  1. With the engine OFF, place the ignition in the LOCK position.
  2. Place the ignition key in the OFF position or the retained accessory power (RAP) position.
  3. Press the key fob LOCK and UNLOCK at the same time. The DIC will display RFA.
  4. Press the control stem for more than 2 seconds to view the modes and 1 second to select a mode.
  5. The following is a list of available programming options:

    • Mode 1--The park lamps flash when the vehicle is locked and unlocked.
    • Mode 2--The park lamps flash and the horn chirps when the vehicle is locked. The park lamps flash when the vehicle is unlocked.
    • Mode 3--The park lamps flash and the horn chirps when the vehicle is locked and unlocked.
    • Mode 4--The RFA is inactive.
