Seat Belt Retractor Pretensioner Replacement - Front Crew Cab

Removal Procedure

  1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling and SIR Disabling and Enabling in SIR.

  2. Object Number: 1276832  Size: SH
  3. Open the front seat belt upper guide shoulder bolt trim cover.
  4. Remove the front seat belt upper guide shoulder bolt.
  5. Remove the lower center pillar trim panel. Refer to Center Pillar Upper Trim Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.
  6. Remove the front seat belt anchor bolt.
  7. Disconnect the electrical connector from the retractor/pretensioner.
  8. Remove the bolt that retains the seat belt retractor/pretensioner assembly to the body.
  9. Remove the front seat belt assembly from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 1276832  Size: SH
  1. Position the rear seat belt retractor/pretensioner assembly to the vehicle.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the bolt which retains the seat belt retractor/pretensioner assembly to the body.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the seat belt retractor/pretensioner bolt to 52.5 N·m (39 lb ft).

  5. Connect the electrical connector to the retractor/pretensioner.
  6. Install the lower center pillar trim panel. Refer to Center Pillar Upper Trim Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.
  7. Install the front seat belt anchor bolt. Ensure that the seat belt webbing is not twisted.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the front seat belt anchor bolt to 52.5 N·m (39 lb ft).

  9. Install the front seat belt upper guide with the bolt. Ensure that the seat belt webbing is not twisted.
  10. Tighten
    Tighten the front seat belt upper guide bolt to 52.5 N·m (39 lb ft).

  11. Install the front seat belt upper guide shoulder bolt trim cover.
  12. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling and SIR Disabling and Enabling in SIR.

Seat Belt Retractor Pretensioner Replacement - Front Regular Cab

Removal Procedure

  1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling and SIR Disabling and Enabling in SIR.

  2. Object Number: 1276833  Size: SH
  3. Open the front seat belt upper guide shoulder bolt trim cover.
  4. Remove the front seat belt upper guide shoulder bolt.
  5. Remove the body rear corner trim panel. Refer to Body Side Rear Lower Trim Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.

  6. Object Number: 1276834  Size: SH
  7. Remove the front seat belt anchor bolt.
  8. Disconnect the electrical connector from the retractor/pretensioner.
  9. Remove the bolt that retains the seat belt retractor/pretensioner assembly to the body.
  10. Remove the front seat belt assembly from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

  1. Position the rear seat belt retractor/pretensioner assembly to the vehicle.

  11. Install the front seat belt anchor bolt. Ensure that the seat belt webbing is not twisted.
  12. Tighten
    Tighten the front seat belt anchor bolt to 52.5 N·m (39 lb ft).

  13. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling and SIR Disabling and Enabling in SIR.

Seat Belt Retractor Pretensioner Replacement - Front Extended Cab

Removal Procedure

  1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling and SIR Disabling and Enabling .

  2. Object Number: 1658649  Size: SH
  3. Open the belt upper guide shoulder bolt trim cover.
  4. Remove the front seat belt upper guide shoulder bolt.
  5. Remove the body rear corner trim panel. Refer to Body Side Rear Lower Trim Panel Replacement .
  6. Remove the seat belt anchor bolt.
  7. Disconnect the electrical connector from the retractor/pretensioner.
  8. Remove the bolt that retains the seat belt retractor/pretensioner assembly to the body.
  9. Remove the seat belt assembly from the vehicle.

  11. Install the body rear corner trim panel. Refer to Body Side Rear Lower Trim Panel Replacement .
  12. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling and SIR Disabling and Enabling .
